Facebook set to enter your workplace with the ‘Facebook At Work’ tool
And for all you Facebook lovers, we have some interesting news!
If you have been wanting to log on to this social networking site while at work, and would be looking for instances when you could do that without your co-workers peeping into your personal life, here’s what will bring a smile to your face.
After entering your personal lives and taking it by storm, Facebook is planning to enter your work place as well… and who knows… may be it will even take your office by storm!
First things first. Facebook is working on the ‘At Work Tool’ that can help you communicate with your co-workers, share files with them and even create business connections over the platform. If deployed at your workplace, you will thereafter have every reason to log on to it and remain in touch with your colleagues and be at your productive best. This is unofficially being termed as ‘Facebook for business’ and Facebook intends to make serious business out of it.
The Loop side
While all of this appears promising, there is no doubt that there are some security risks accompanying this initiative. This stems out of easy collaboration with members, lack of security hurdles when it comes to sharing files, and no cap on members who can join the network (this could even mean friends of coworkers also getting easy access to data). These could be unintentional; however, due to the lack of proper and strict measures, chances of misusing data and leakage of sensitive files seem high.
Well, if Facebook is able to put proper checks in place, then surely this could become one of the best initiatives in recent times. As we are all pretty familiar with this social networking platform, there wouldn’t be too many hassles that companies would face to train their employees into using this tool… or would they?
Till the checks are in place, the success of this tool can’t be predicted though.
