Scanning takes longer time while opening file with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise.
McAfee VirusScan Enterprise enables you to scan all files for a fixed amount of time before opening or writing into the file. If the fixed time is over, then the scanner will stop scanning the file and open or save the file. This problem may occur if the maximum scanning time settings are incorrect.
The solution to the problemFollow the instructions to troubleshoot the problem of scanning taking a long time while opening file with McAfee VirusScan Enterprise:
1Click 'Start' and select 'All Programs'.
2Select 'McAfee' and click 'VirusScan Console'. (The 'VirusScan Console' window appears.)
3From the 'Task' menu, click 'On-Access Scanner Properties'. (The 'On-Access Scan Properties' dialog box appears.)
4From the 'Scan time' group, select the 'Enforce a maximum scanning time for all files' check box.
5In the 'Maximum scan time (seconds)' box, select the appropriate value.
