How to enable PDF files preview in 64-bit Microsoft Windows 7

Vivid Document Imaging Technologies releases their new software product designed for Windows 7, a PDF Printer that allows virtually any Windows application to write a document as a PDF document in the same way it would print the document to the printer.
The solution to the problem

Follow the instructions to enable PDF files preview in 64 bit Microsoft Windows 7:

  1. 1

    Click the ‘Start’ (Orb) button.

  2. 2

Go to the Search programs and files textbox and type ‘regedit’.

  3. 3

    Select ‘regedit.exe’ from the results.

  4. 4

    Click the ‘Yes’ button.

  5. 5

    In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate and select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeClassesCLSID{DC6EFB56-9CFA-464D-8880-44885D7DC193}

  6. 6

In the right pane, locate ‘AppID’.

  7. 7

    Change AppID value to ‘534A1E02-D58F-44f0-B58B-36CBED287C7C’.

  8. 8

    Restart your computer.

When a user prints their document to PDF printer, rather than sending the file to a laser jet or inkjet printer, the software creates a PDF document.
