How to switch a Windows Computer to VGA Mode

You can switch a Windows Computer to VGA Mode. To boot up Windows you may need to use a lower resolution and refresh rate. This is called ‘VGA Mode’ and you can force Windows to run in this mode using the boot menu.

The solution to the problem

Follow the instructions to kill to switch a Windows Computer to VGA Mode:

  1. 1

    Turn on the computer.

  2. 2

Press the “F8″ key until you see a boot options window.

  3. 3

Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to select “Enable VGA Mode” and press “Enter.”

If you do not see ‘Enable VGA Mode’ try the ‘Enable low resolution video’ setting. If that fails, you will need to use the ‘Safe Mode’ option on your system and then you can resolve it.
