Follow the instructions to fix the issue when clicking a hyperlink in a web query opens a new browser window:
Copy the Web address from the new browser window.
Click a cell in the region of the worksheet where the query data was returned (also known as an external data range).
NOTE: If you know the name of the query but are not sure which region of the worksheet contains the query data, click the ‘Name’ box, and then click the name of the query in the list.
Click ‘Edit Query’ on the External Data toolbar.
Paste the Web address to the ‘Address’ box in the ‘Web Query’ dialog box.
Click on ‘Go’ to open the Web page in the ‘Web Query’ dialog box.
You can also resolve this problem if you copy and paste the web address from the new browser window to the address box in the web query dialog box. Then click on ‘Go’ to open the web page within the web query dialog box.
