How to remove subtotals in Microsoft Excel 2002

If subtotals are not needed on your worksheet anymore, you can quickly remove all subtotal formulas.

The solution to the problem

Follow the instructions to remove subtotals in Microsoft Excel 2002:

    Select any cell in the range which contains subtotals.

    In the ‘Data’ menu, select ‘Subtotals’. The ‘Subtotal’ dialog box is displayed.

    Click the ‘Remove all’ button. The subtotals are removed.


Microsoft Excel can automatically calculate subtotal and grand total values in a list. When you insert automatic subtotals, Excel outlines the list so that you can display and hide the detail rows for each subtotal.
