Tesla Powerwall Batteries: Low Charge Struggles No More
US-based electric carmaker Tesla Motors announced the launch of its new range of batteries aimed to power homes and businesses.
These batteries christened ‘Tesla Powerwall’ will store solar energy to serve as a backup in case of blackouts. These rechargeable Li-ion units based on Tesla Model S battery will be available in 7kWh unit for $3,000 and 10kWh unit for $3,500. These units can be connected to the internet to create a local smart grid with a limit of maximum connection of 9 units generating 90 kWh per home.
