Intel Xeon E7 v3 chips announced; to start shipping by late 2015
Intel has finally announced the availability of the Xeon server chip – the Intel Xeon E7 v3.
With up to 18 dual-threaded cores and 45 MB L3 cache, these processors are expected to boost the performance of your machine by over 40 percent. Indeed, this is quite something!
With everything moving towards the Internet of Things and connecting the whole world, these chips are being viewed as components that could empower you to take care of big data.
Though there hasn’t been any formal announcement on the shipping plans; nonetheless it is expected that these chips will start shipping later this year. Server manufacturing giants such as Cisco, Bull, HP, and Huwei are coming on board to bring you the Xeon E7 v3-powered devices.
